The Occupational Standards for Early Childhood Educators, outlines the specific roles and responsibilities for early childhood educators in early learning environments.
ECEs providing infant care have roles and responsibilities that are specific to this age group, such as working closely with families to provide developmental learning opportunities to an age group that requires a specialised communication and observation skill set. The Child Care Human Resources Sector Council had the Infant Care Profile developed to highlight the specific skills required to work with this age group. This addendum to the original document is intended to accompany and enhance the base Occupational Standards for ECEs, not replace them.
